Sleek integrated design, HD recording, essential by almost any standard
When was the last time you saw something happen right in front of you while you were driving and thought, I really wish I had recorded that? What about the last time something happened in the vicinity of your car while it was parked, but by the time you got back to the car, it was too late? Or something that we all hate…. An accident that you know is someone else’s fault, but is almost impossible to prove without some kind of evidence. So what is the solution?
Well, there could be several solutions, but one possible solution is what we like to refer to as a drive incident recorder. These products are quite often referred to as a dash camera (dash cam), auto black box, DVR, drive recorder and various other terms. There are hundreds, if not thousands of these types of products out there, ranging from the very basic to the very complex, although we prefer to classify these products into 2 main categories: Integrated and non-integrated. Being realistic, both types of systems are necessary as not all vehicles lend themselves to being fitted with a fully integrated drive incident recorder.
There are certain requirements that must be met first, such as a suitable location to integrate to. For vehicles which can not have an integrated system, there are plenty of great options out there such as BlackVue, Vicovation, iTronics and Garmin to mention just a few.
If you’ve been looking for a fully integrated drive incident recorder, which is functional, discrete and which compliments the driving experience in your car, there have been no options whatsoever, until now.
The Autofidelity integrated drive incident recorder, captures everything in HD while you drive, and also integrates seamlessly to your vehicle. It is the ultimate integrated solution for a dash cam, black box, or whatever you prefer to call it, and an essential addition for safety and peace of mind.
There are several models available for vehicle specific integration. Please continue reading below if you would like to know more, or click the appropriate link at the bottom of the page to see the model suitable for your vehicle.
Seamless integration
Through it’s vehicle specific design, the Autofidelity integrated drive incident recorder can integrate like no other dash cam. The focus on designing a seamlessly integrated solution, rather than just another dash cam adds another dimension and allows optimal positioning of the front camera for best video recording results, as well as best placement of controls for ease of use. The front camera is securely placed directly in front of the rear view mirror, giving a perfect view through the middle of the Front windscreen. All controls, status indicators and the SD card input are also in the same convenient vicinity and easily within reach of the driver and passenger. Wiring is routed neatly and securely with factory wiring harnesses out of sight. Although the rear camera position can vary depending on the vehicle model, it is generally positioned centrally around the top of the rear windscreen. Integration is quite a new approach to drive incident recorder design, but the many benefits become obvious very quickly.
Functional, discrete design
“This is one dash cam that no one will see coming.”
While functionality is important, it should also be optimised by clever minimal design which not only improves aesthetic appearance, but also provides improved usability as well as functionality. This is one dash cam that no one will see coming. The design of the Autofidelity integrated drive incident recorder brings all of the necessary controls right to your fingertips, such as activation and deactivation of video and audio recording, coupled with HD video recording quality, all whilst retaining the discrete look and feel of a factory fitted product. The end result is that you will forget it’s there, until you need it most.
Simple, stress free operation
While it seems that an average dash cam might be feature rich, operation can sometimes be complex and arduous requiring a Masters degree in dash cam patience. The Autofidelity integrated drive incident recorder is complex only by name, offering simple, hassle free operation which requires virtually no ongoing adjustment or maintenance, allowing you to keep your eyes and your concentration on the road ahead. Events are recorded continuously and automatically while you drive and you can select whether you would like to have audio or not. In parking mode, the system records and stores event files only when there is activity or impact in the vicinity of the vehicle. To prevent flat batteries, the system uses a clever voltage sensing circuit which turns it off once the vehicles battery voltage falls below your set voltage.
Dash cams have never looked this good
The average dash cam or car black box can be easily identified by it’s stick-on or suction cup mount, commanding presence, and the bundle of cable hanging from it or connecting to it. The Autofidelity integrated drive incident recorder is defined more by an understated and discrete presence, OEM look and feel, and distinct lack of resemblance to an aftermarket add-on. It’s the kind of solution that you could be forgiven for thinking was a factory inclusion. The dash cam of the future is here, and the future looks great!
