Instead of relying on phone mounts or portable GPS units, you control everything through the original MMI interface. You gain clear mapping, spoken directions through the car’s speakers, and navigation arrows in the instrument cluster (DIS), so every trip becomes easier and more intuitive.
Moreover, the kit uses genuine-style hardware preloaded with the latest software and tailored wiring looms. As a result, the system looks and feels like a true factory installation while modernising your A6 for everyday use.
How It Works
First, the supplied DVD navigation unit connects to your existing MMI 2G High infotainment system using model-specific wiring and optical fibre. Once your installer completes the wiring and coding, the MMI recognises the navigation module as if it came from the factory.
From there, you operate navigation entirely via the familiar MMI control panel on the centre console. A discreet GPS antenna inside the vehicle receives satellite signals and feeds accurate position data to the system.
While you drive, the 7″ colour MMI screen shows the route, maps and menu options. At the same time, the instrument cluster (DIS) displays turn arrows and guidance prompts, so you can quickly glance down without taking your eyes off the road for long. Voice guidance plays through the vehicle speakers, which means you never miss a turn—even when you’re not looking directly at the screen.

Q: How do I know if I have MMI 2G High?
A: MMI 2G High features a 7″ colour screen, a NAV button on the MMI panel, and often a CD changer in the glove box. If you’re unsure, we can help you confirm.
Q: Does the kit include the navigation DVD/map disc?
A: No. The hardware ships without a map DVD. You can purchase a compatible navigation DVD separately.
Q: Will the system look factory once installed?
A: Yes. It uses the original screen, controls and speakers, so the navigation behaves just like a factory-fitted system.
Q: Is coding required after installation?
A: Yes. After fitting, the vehicle must be coded to enable navigation. We perform this coding for you.
Q: Is this compatible with MMI 3G?
A: No. This kit is designed specifically for MMI 2G High and does not suit MMI 3G systems.
Q: Do I need a roof-mounted GPS antenna?
A: No. The kit includes an indoor GPS antenna that mounts discreetly inside the vehicle.

Wiring
Unfortunately, it is often the things that we don’t see that can make a difference. Inferior quality or poorly installed wiring can cause thousands of dollars in damage in extreme cases. In minor cases, wiring can even cause annoying rattles. Our systems are supplied with wiring harnesses which are wrapped in fabric insulation, conforming as closely as possible to the wiring standards set by the manufacturer and ensuring that there are no annoying rattles
Warranty
This product comes with a minimum of 12 month manufacturers warranty and if installed by Autofidelity Australia we offer a lifetime warranty on our installation.
Diagnostics Check
As a standard part of our installation process we carry out a pre-installation and post-installation diagnostic check on your vehicle. This allows us to ensure we do not incorrectly code or leave any components unplugged in your car. As an added bonus if there any existing faults in the vehicle we can identify and advise where it is. Having your vehicle properly diagnosed is a vital step when fixing faults to help reduce the chances of big unnecessary repair bills. If you are not having an installation done we can offer this service for a flat fee of $165 to perform the diagnostic check.
