Make reversing your Volkswagen Beetle 5C easier, safer and more precise with this integrated Volkswagen Beetle emblem rear camera. The system uses an original Volkswagen rear emblem with a concealed camera that remains hidden when not in use. As a result, you gain improved rear visibility without changing the clean appearance of the vehicle.
As soon as you select reverse gear, the Volkswagen emblem opens to reveal the integrated camera. The centre touchscreen then automatically displays a clear, full-colour image of the area behind the vehicle. Consequently, you can identify kerbs, low obstacles, moving objects and other potential hazards more easily when parking or reversing.
Once reverse gear is disengaged, the camera retracts behind the emblem again. This concealed design helps protect the camera while maintaining an original Volkswagen appearance. It also avoids the need for a permanently visible aftermarket camera or an additional monitor inside the vehicle.
Please note: when booking, please advise whether the vehicle has genuine Volkswagen navigation, as this determines the correct camera interface and integration requirements.
This system does not include reversing guidelines and is not suitable for vehicles with a factory-fitted television tuner.
How It Works
When you select reverse gear, the Volkswagen emblem automatically opens and exposes the integrated rear camera. At the same time, the compatible touchscreen radio or navigation display switches to the live camera image.
The camera provides a wide 170° viewing angle, allowing you to see more of the area directly behind the Beetle. In addition, the high-quality CCD image sensor and low-light capability help provide a clear image in garages, underground car parks and darker driveways.
If the vehicle has compatible Acoustic or Optical Parking Assistance, the rear camera can work alongside that system. Therefore, you can use the visual camera image together with available parking sensor warnings for more complete reversing support.
After you move out of reverse, the emblem closes and conceals the camera once again.
