Today we are going to have a look at this Mercedes-Benz W204 that we’ve just retrofitted Apple CarPlay.
In this solution the CarPlay functionality is operated via touch. We actually put a touch panel in front of the original display, so we’re not replacing the factory components. We’re just adding the functionality of CarPlay and touchscreen to the pre existing system. This allows to navigate our way through all different CarPlay functionality including messages, phone calls, maps, spotify, iHeartRadio and etc. A quite good solution.
